Last year my neighbor told me she was doing this and I never really looked into it. I’m sorry I didn’t but I am so glad I am signed up for it this year!
If you don’t know what a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is , let me explain.
A CSA allows city residents to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown locally by regional farmers. When you become a member of a CSA, you’re purchasing a “share” of vegetables from a regional farmer. Some farmers will also include the option to buy shares of eggs, homemade bread, meat, cheese, fruit, flowers or other farm products along with their veggies.
Many of these farms will set up pick up locations so there are no worries if you don’t live close to a farm. There might be a local pick up station near you that you can pick your shares up from weekly or bi-weekly. Depending on what you choose.
Last week I went and purchased a pint of Organic Strawberries for $5.99. After figuring out my Veggie and Fruit Share. It comes to $16 each week for FRESH organic fruits and veggies that will last my family of 4 the week!
I suggest everyone looks into this. You’re not only getting the items fresh from the farm , but your supporting your local farmers 🙂
If you’re a family of 2 or even live alone, you may even want to get a half share and see if someone wants to split that!
I posted about this earlier in our Facebook Group so if you want to learn more about it and see what others are saying about this , Make sure you Go Here and you can read all of the Great stuff people are saying about this!
