Many of you know my savings does not just stop at groceries and healthy and beauty items. I could win the lottery and I will still save on just about ANYTHING I CAN! I would have to say the only hang up I have with myself is that I am obsessed with anything Pottery Barn! I love evertything from their furniture to the home decor! Unfortunately , my wallet will not allow me to always shop there. Even if I was a millionaire. I sometimes cannot justify spending almost a $1000 on a desk. BUT…when going to their outlets and grabbing a coupon or free shipping, maybe something on clearance. I can accept the price a little bit more since I am technically saving money 😉
I recently found my new favorite store , Home Goods which to my surprise sells Pottery Barn Home decor! I kid you not it is the same EXACT STUFF I have seen in Pottery Barn’s outlet and catalogs for a fraction of the cost at Home Goods! If you don’t believe me , go see for yourself!
Take these lanterns for instance at Pottery Barn. Same EXACT ones in Home Goods for only $16.99! OK…so maybe now I can finally have my Pottery Barn home and not go broke!
Ok so anyway…I saved over $900 on my recent purchase at Pottery Barn and I am sure you are dying to know how I did it. We recently moved into a new home and I have been wanting a farm table for the longest time. Can I tell you I have searched high and low for one that would not cost me a million dollars. The thought of making one even crossed my mind just to save money, but I have a feeling I woule just end up spending hundreds of dollars on wood and it would not be a very safe place for my guests to sit if I were putting it together! Even months before moving into our new house I kept eyeing the Benchwright Dining Table from Pottery Barn but just could not bring myself to spending $4000 on a dining set. Even when looking for tables, I would go back to Pottery Barn’s site and compare it. My husband and I have worked so so hard to live debt free and to stay that way has be such a wonderful feeling. However, when we want things like this…it’s just not in the cards unless we have the cash for it. If we don’t have the cash for it, we don’t buy it. NEVER again will we get into the mess of owing thousands of dollars to credit card companies.
BUT…I am now a saver. I save everything. I let money I have earned from cash back mobile apps just sit there until I REALLY need it. I earn rewards from many apps I use as well and redeem those for gift cards. Which brings me to THIS.
I FINALLY DID IT! I was able to buy the Dining set I wanted and justify the price to myself because of the amount of money I was able to save on it!
With tax and shipping this was over $4,100.
I searched for a coupon on Ebay and found one for 20% off. I paid $4.99 for the Pottery Barn coupon code and within an hour the code was emailed to me.
I entered the coupon code and that instantly dropped the price $730.60!

MY COST AFTER COUPON – $3491.74
My Final cost after Coupon , Ibotta Credit and Gift Card Discounts = $2841.66
Saved $1324.62 🙂
