Think about how much money you will save just by buying a $0.97 bottle of Dawn dish liquid and using that to wash your windows and glass with. PLUS…leaves a nice fresh clean smell! Let’s also remember , that we should always be looking for a Dawn Dish liquid coupon as well because we don’t want to pay full price for it , right? 🙂
6 months ago we moved into a new home that was vacant for a few months so the window were pretty cruddy on the inside and out. Spraying them down with windex and wiping each one was just not something I wanted to do. My mom’s cleaning lady told me she has been using this on glass and windows for almost 20 years so I gave it a try. It works! Not only does it work, it smells soo much nicer than a bottle of windex and left the entire house smelling fresh and clean. Oh and the windows..they were squeaky clean! For outside, I simply made a batch of the soap mixture and placed in a bucket. I dipped a scrub sponge into bucket and wipes window down . Then sprayed off with hose. That’s it!
Try it and I am telling you, you will never want to waste money on glass cleaner again! Here is just another way to save money 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
1 tbsp of dawn dish liquid
2 quarts water
1/4 cup white vinegar (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix Dawn and water into small bucket or spray bottle. Dip clean rag into soap mixture , (or if using a spray bottle, spray soap miture onto window) wash window then dry with paper towel or dry clean rag. You will not believe how clean your windows will come out. Smelling much nicer also than window cleaner! Works excellent on your outside windows on your home and gets rid of all the grime.
When cleaning outside window simply dip rag into soap mixture, wash window and just rinse off with hose! Watch how clean and sparkly your windows are!
The vinegar is not necessary. It’s organic and causes streaks. Use one tbsp Jet-Dry and two-four drops (yes, drops!) of good quality dish soap per quart of distilled water. It’s all you will ever need. For really tough cleaning jobs, just add two tbsp of baking soda to that mixture, scrub the glass, let dry, then polish with a soft cotton cloth. Cheep formula from a pro. Nothing you can buy works better.
Wow! Daniel, but how rude is it to comment on someone’s blog with a different recipe? I’ve never even been to this blog, but damn! Maybe you should start your own blog, since you know so much more?
