Did you know chia seeds can be used as an egg replacer when baking or cooking??! This is the #1 choice for egg replacements in vegan baking. But wait…you don’t have to be vegan to use as a replacement. This will make so many recipes even healthier. I can’t wait to try it!
The outer layer of chia seeds swells when mixed with liquids to form a gel. This can used in place of eggs to lower cholesterol and increase the nutrient content of foods and baked goods.
To make the egg replacement, mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds + 3 tablespoons of water (let stand for 15 minutes) = 1 egg equivalent.
Use for baking, in puddings, pancakes, oatmeal and so much more!
