I am the first one to admit that for years, every time I cooked broccoli, we were tossing it in a pot and boiling it. Then of course after it was done you can’t just eat it plan so you pour cheese sauce over it or in our case , butter and salt. Now the restaurants will use butter too , but why does theirs always taste so much better? I will tell you why. Because when you steam or bake broccoli , it tastes sooo much better! Not to mention easier I think
OK..so here is a super easy recipe you have to try and I bet you will LOVE it!
- 1 Head of Fresh Broccoli (I recommend fresh over frozen for this recipe. If you use frozen , remember the seasonings you place on top of frozen broccoli may not take in all the flavor)
- Olive Oil (Although I plan on trying this with coconut oil next time I make it)
- Sea Salt and pepper to taste
- Garlic and Fresh Lemon are optional.
After breaking broccoli apart, place in a bowl and pour in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste.
Now is when you would also add in the garlic and a few squeezes of fresh lemon should you choose to.
Mix broccoli to make sure they are pretty much all covered. Then toss on non-stick cookie tray and place in oven for approx 15 minutes at 375 Degrees. You may want to keep checking it and once you see some of the florets with a crunchy brown texture, it is time to pull them out.
Depending on how much broccoli you are using , you may need to add more olive oil and seasoning.
When done you can also sprinkle a little bit of parmesan cheese on top of it.
You see these crunchy florets in the picture above? Cooked just like … It tastes amazing! Plus it’s a healthy dish!
